What is Adaptive Clothing?

Adaptive clothing is clothing that is made especially for people who have difficulty in being able to get dressed with ease and comfort. It’s ideal for people who have disabilities, the elderly, wheelchair users and people who live with a condition that makes day to day tasks like getting dressed a struggle. One of the main struggles in dressing is fastening buttons or zipping up zippers due to the loss of fine motor skills. Materials such as Velcro, makes snaps and stretchy fabric to combat this. Adaptive clothing is typically designed with flat seams to reduce friction and has discreet modifications so that the clothing appears in traditional fashion.
